Foster Adopt Community Group is friendly support group which seeks to provide support and fellowship to Foster Adopt Parents. This group includes parents who interact with the Foster Adopt world in a variety of roles. A speaker, childcare and pizza is typically provided. At this time, all meetings will be hosted with State required safety measures in place. An RSVP is required. This group also provides support group hours towards those with a Foster Care License.

This men’s Bible study has been meeting continuously for 40 years. We are currently meeting via Zoom, but will return to our roots at Denny’s at 103rd and Metcalf as soon as it is deemed safe. We welcome new members. We are currently studying the Gospel of Mark, and are being led by Galen Wagner. This is a caring group of men who pray for each other, our kids, parents, neighbors, work.  During the Covid-19 Zoom period we meet from 6:30 to 7:30 AM on Friday mornings. Our normal meeting time is 6:00 to 7:00 AM.

Women’s Cancer Support Group (Monthly/Ongoing) | OP Campus. Contact leader for logistics.

One of the most traumatic events in a woman’s life is hearing the potential or definitive diagnosis of cancer. This confidential group is focused on spiritual and emotional needs that occur throughout this difficult journey. We want to support you and pray with, and for you, on your personal journey, or as you support someone you love.

Group meets at the Overland Park campus and/or online via Zoom calls.

For groups specifically developed for Christians, GriefShare is a wonderful option.

Healing for the Pain and Loss of Abortion (New Groups form in June)

“Her Choice to Heal” is a grace-filled, confidential, 10-week women’s group for women struggling with the pain of abortion. Creative and artistic expression, along with journaling and Bible reading, help participants overcome lies that bind them. Trained lay leaders offer grace, understanding, and God’s love.

Offers practical information that will help you recover from your separation or divorce. You will receive expert video teaching on divorce and recovery subjects, group discussion on the teaching topics, and an opportunity to continue the processing through daily individual work.

Alzheimer’s (Dementia) Caregiver Support Group (Monthly/Ongoing)

This group meets the first Thursday of the month from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at South KC in FH (A) 101, 103, 105. Giving care to a loved one with dementia can be challenging, physically depleting and emotionally draining.
