Taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34: 8

In February of 2012 a man named Don Breiby had a vision, no money, and a church plot. God’s Garden was born out of that vision, and now, by the grace of God, it is a busy and productive, garden.

As part of God’s Community Garden, the Harvest for Hunger Garden is a volunteer-based part of God’s Garden, growing to feed the hungry in our community. Thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables are distributed to folks through Colonial and Mission Southside Pantries as well as other food pantries. Volunteers take home fresh produce each time they volunteer as part of a Volunteer for Veggies program.

A gardener can also lease one of the 40 raised beds or 40 ground plots to grow vegetables for his/her own family.
