Why do kids drop out of school? Many times it is because they didn’t learn to read by the third grade. Help change a life by giving one hour a week to help a child learn to read. There are schools near South KC, Overland Park, or downtown, and most readers help out over their lunchtime.

Description: As part of God’s Community Garden, the Harvest for Hunger Garden is a volunteer-based part of God’s Garden, growing to feed the hungry in our community. Thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables are distributed to folks through Colonial and Mission Southside Pantries as well as other food pantries. House of Hope provides residential treatment program for hurting teenage girls, with the goal of family restoration.
