COVID-19 Response

The world has been profoundly impacted by what is now considered a pandemic called COVID-19.

As Colonial’s leaders, we are compelled to do everything in our power to protect our seniors and other members of our community from any unwarranted exposure. After much reflection, we have decided to have online services only as long as the Stay at Home Order is in effect. This means we will have one service at 10:00 AM via Facebook Live (facebook.com/colonialkc) and YouTube (youtube.com/colonialkc) on Sundays. You will also be able to access the service on Facebook following the live stream, on our website at colonialkc.org, or on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/colonialkc.

Additionally, Sunday School classes and children’s programming will not meet. We encourage everyone to honor the Stay at Home Order but to meet with friends and groups through digital mediums such as Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts and others digital meeting applications.

We will monitor the situation closely and resume our normal service times on site as soon as it is prudent. Please check back for updates as we learn more and make future plans.

In the Bible, Joshua reminds us: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

There are many other wonderful promises in God’s word for us to lean on during this time. As Christians, we know we are not exempt from illness, but we are not to live in fear but trust the Lord in whatever circumstances we face. Thus, as we face this season together, please look for opportunities to minister to your neighbors who are dealing with tremendous fear and anxiety. There has never been a better time to pray for each other by asking our friends and neighbors if you can pray for them. May we be the light of Christ in these difficult days.

With love,

Lead Pastor Jim West and the Colonial Leadership Team
