Wornall High School Ministry![]() ![]() ![]() Ministry Vision
We want students to become passionate, selfless followers of Jesus Christ. Our holistic discipleship approach challenges students to embody lifestyles of worship, community and mission by encountering God, growing in love for one another, and impacting those in need. To view our vision,CLICK HERE!
Simply put, this vision shapes our ministry identity and strategies.
Ministry Strategies
Below are practical, engaging, regularly-scheduled activities to help us live out our God-given vision.
1. Life Groups. These are gender specific small groups for 9th-12th graders that meet on Wednesday nights starting at 7 p.m. at the Wornall Student Center. Life Groups provide an opportunity for students to worship God and grow as a community of believers who desire to live out the good news of Jesus. Afterwards, we go to Culver's at 81st and State Line for frozen custard.
2. Sunday Morning Live (SML). This is our corporate worship gathering on Sunday mornings from 10:45-11:45 a.m. in the high school room at the Student Center. At SML, our student worship band leads us in a few songs, then our students engage in a thought-provoking discussion involving a paticular passage of scripture.
3. Local Serve Nights. The Wornall high school ministry invests in two inner-city ministries: Freedom Fire and Hope Faith. These ministries provide the means for our students to partner with God's redemptive work in the city.

We look forward to returning to Mission Arlington on June 17-23, 2012. Register at www.colonialkc.org/missionarlington.
Globally, we are huge advocates of the Global Orphan Project. Many of our students recently returned from a vision trip to Haiti. (click here for a video of their experiences). We are currently brainstorming ways to support Go Threads. In addition, our students sponsor a Compassion International child from Uganda named Enos.
5. Mentorship. It's our heart's desire for every student to have a mentor and eventually become a mentor for someone else. It's a Biblical model of relational discipleship.
