Finances at Colonial

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
1 Peter 4:10 ESV

God calls each of us to be good stewards; that means as individuals, as families, and as a church. At Colonial we take very seriously the challenge to manage the blessings that God has bestowed on the church through the generosity of his faithful followers. It’s important to us that you have the confidence in Colonial’s stewardship, so that you may give confidently to support the Ministry and Mission of Colonial.

Elements of Financial Transparency at Colonial:

The Session and Finance Elder, elected by the Congregation, oversee the financial operations of the church.

Financial reports reflecting the contributions and spending are reviewed and approved by Session each month.

Session has adopted a Fiscal Policy which governs expenditure approval levels and authority for financial decisions.

Each year the books of the church are audited by an outside CPA firm who issues a report to Session, independent of church staff.

Colonial’s annual Ministry Operations Budget is presented to and voted on by the congregation, usually in June.
