Helping people become passionate, selfless followers of Christ

Quivira Middle School Ministry

Middle School Vision and Philosophy:

Middle School is a tough stage for almost every student. It is the limbo area between being a child who sees the world in black & white and being a teen who starts to question everything. It is the time of the “almost, but not yet”. Our desire is to help guide and direct students through the “messy middle” all the while equipping and teaching them what it means to be a Christ follower.

Our plan is to see our students make 3 significant connections while in our ministry. A positive connection to their peers where they don’t just seek their own interests, but consider the interests of everyone, a connection to someone older who has been there and can help serve as a guide, and a connection to a personal, ACTIVE relationship with Christ. Everything we do is viewed with these connections in mind.

Our regularly scheduled events are:

FUSION is the name of our weekly Wednesday night youth group event. At Fusion we try to bring everyone together and show that we are the body of Christ and our identity is found in Christ and Christ alone.  We typically start off with a game or two, hear a brief message then split into small groups for discussion and prayer.  Please join us, Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 pm at the "Q" (house on the corner of 135th and Rosehill).  We promise not to make you do any homework.  Click here for a schedule.

SML(Sunday Morning Live)  meets every Sunday morning at 10:45 in Rm 200 in the upstairs of the church.  Come in grab a donut and a seat at one of our grade and gender specific tables.  We start with announcements, a game, and some worship.  Then we enter into a time of teaching and discussion at your tables.

FREEDOM FIRE is our Impact ministry. One Friday a month we go down to the inner-city to hang out with children at Guinotte Manor. We encourage families and students to come be a part of the ministry and there are always plenty of adults to supervise. While there we play games, paint faces, lead worship, and then serve a dinner prepared by our families.  Afterward we head to McDonalds for a recap and hear all the wonderful testimonies from our kids about how much they were impacted. Tor learn more about Freedom Fire Ministries click here.
