Do you see yourself as a leader? Should you come to this event? For many serving in the church, we might think, no, I'm a servant. Unless I'm a pastor, worship leader, children's director, or some other titled position; I might not see myself as a leader. But I want to challenge our thinking today. According to this definition, anyone who strives to influence others is a leader. I don't know anyone serving in the church who doesn't influence others. We have the opportunity to influence the children we work with, the youth we teach, the volunteers we lead, the people we usher to their seats, even the other leaders with whom we serve.
What Is This?
Leadership Community is a time for leaders to come together for the celebration of God’s work in our midst, and to inspire, challenge and encourage each other to constantly improve our service to each other and to those God brings to His church. Colonial’s goal is for each one of us to become a passionate, selfless follower of Christ. As we pursue that vision, we help others to grow in their quest as well. We develop our gifts and passions, and then multiply ourselves by helping others do the same.
This is a packed morning of training – where you can come for all the fall training in one fell swoop, rather than coming multiple times to various ministries. Don’t miss it!
Pastor Jim will begin our time together at Wornall (simulcast to Quivira) followed by:
- At the Wornall Campus, there will be equipping sessions for many of our ministry areas including the Boone Elementary Outreach, Student Ministry, Children’s Ministry (includes mandatory safe and secure paperwork and the new curriculum), Group Leaders (LIFE Groups, Sunday School leaders, Bible study leaders), and Christ’s Living Water Care Teams. - At the Quivira Campus, equipping sessions will follow. Session One will be from 9:35-10:30 and Session Two from 10:35 – 11:30. All sessions are available at both times.
